Sundirca winery is located on Peljesac peninsula in village Oskorusno. Production of wine and olive oil are staples of production for our family for couple of centuries, which has resulted in establishing our vinery and olive oil company in 1921. Peljesac vineyards are known to have very special soil. It is rich in potassium and consist of gravel and small stones, which prevents moisture loss in the hot summer months and with morning dew creates perfect condition for good quality wines. Our vine trees are growing very low - at high of 30cm form the soil and they can grow to 80cm in high, which is yet another good reason that dew stays in to soil over summer month. Vines are not on the line and they grow freely, producing each grape as unique, as only nature intends.

If you look at our vineyards, you will see how hilly they are and one is to wonder how they are cultivated? Everything is done by hand and help of donkeys and hoe. Many of this vineyards have been 'stolen' form the hills by digging into rocks and making yet another terrace for small vineyard bordered by stone walls, where there is no use of cement, but these walls are hand layered using bigger stones from the vineyards. They look so beautiful and so powerful, just nature.

In these vineyards we grow Plavac Mali and Rukatac. Plavac mali is quolity red vine and Rukatac is quolity white wine.

PLAVAC MALI There is a story that Plavac Mali loves the suffering and therefore performs best in Peljesac peninsula. Plavac Mali means Small Blue, which is named after small size of the grapes and rich and deep color of the grapes, reminding us on Croatian sea. Plavac Mali vines are rich, high in alcohol and grape tannins with flavor and aromas of blackberries, dark cherries and Croatian herbs(thyme, lavender and sage). Our vines are matured in oak barrels, which adds complexity and richness of the wine. Plavac Mali is great accompanier to Cratian dry ham - Prsut, good cheeses and meet dishes.

RUKATAC The wine has light yellow- greenish color with the notes of fresh lemon and Mediterranean scents. It has nice dry bouquet with refreshing flavor. Best is served chilled and served wish our Dalmatian specialties of anchovies, risottos, seafood and goat cheese.

OLIVE OIL Olives are harvested by hand from centennial olive groves. The oil is produced by cold pressing, which gives it a fresh and fruity aroma enriched with aromas of green vegetation. The fullness of its mild and rich flavour intertwines with beautifully dosed poignancy. Production is limited and focused primarily on quality. On the World Olive Tasting in New York, Peljesac olive oil has won gold medal two years in the row.
